1.Chemistry Lab Technician

Work location: Kingston, ON. Canada

Type: 

  • Work on site in-person as a full-time technician (Experienced/Entry-Level/New Grad) OR

  • Accept students who will graduate May 2022 for paid internship position with 20 Hrs work per week and become a full-time technician this May.

 

Job Description

Overall Objectives and Responsibilities.

  • Perform daily chemistry experiments including solution preparation, measurement of protein, fat, moisture and ash content, UV-Vis spectrometry

  • Lab maintenance

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • General knowledge of analytical chemistry, familiar with the use of analytical equipment such as balance, pH meter and UV-Vis, or HPLC and GC.

  • Laboratory experience or internship experience in the dairy or grain industry is preferred.

  • Degree or studying in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, Life Science, or another relevant subject is preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Keep good laboratory habits, organized, clean and on time always.

  • Ability to work independently and cooperate with other team members.

  • Ability to adapt in pressured situations and keep a positive attitude.

  • Mandarin Chinese is preferred, not required.

 

2.  Microbiology Lab Technician 

Work location: Kingston, ON

Type:

  • Work on site in-person as a full-time technician (Entry-Level/New Grad) OR

  • Work on site in-person as a part-time technician with 10-20 Hours work per week

Job Description

  • Perform daily microbiology experiments including medium preparation, sample preparation, inoculation and incubation, sterilization, etc.

  • Lab maintenance

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • General knowledge of microbiology, familiar with general lab technology such as analytical balance, pH meter, pipetting, et al.

  • laboratory experience or internship experience in the food industry is preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Keep good laboratory habits, responsible, organized, clean and on time at all time

  • Ability to work independently and cooperate with another team member 

  • Ability to adapt in pressured situations and keep a positive attitude

  • Degree or studying in Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, life science, or another relevant subject is preferred.
